The Journalist’s Edge in Communication

Hi, I’m Laura, a former BBC News journalist and producer.

I spent two decades in one of the world’s busiest newsroom learning how to ask different questions, cut through complexity and craft narratives that resonate – the kind that build trust, inspire action and stay with people long after they’re heard. I’ve interviewed world leaders, cultural icons and everyday heroes – always looking for the story behind the story.

Now I bring that same approach to the worlds of business, leadership and creativity. I help individuals and organisations communicate with clarity and confidence by finding and telling the story that makes people care.

Through my Flip It Method, I guide leaders, founders and teams to:

  • Communicate with confidence in media interviews, presentations, and high-stakes moments.
  • Shape brand narratives and messaging frameworks that connect with customers and culture.
  • Capture lived experience through ghostwriting and legacy storytelling.
  • Bring conversations to life as a host, moderator, or podcast creator.

Whether I’m writing a book, leading a brand storytelling project or hosting the Flip It Podcast, my work always comes back to the same belief: stories aren’t just content, they’re how we connect, create meaning and move people to action.
